Just a recap from where we left off earlier: our first oil painting project with a limited palette: take a simple white object, have a strong light source on it, and create a tonal drawing:
Ground your canvas with a burnt sienna wash (include a light grid with vine charcoal):
We’re going to use a black to white grey scale to create the grisaille underpainting:
Here’s an example of CJ’s grisaille being painted over the burnt sienna ground:

Next up is the first “color pass”: the first layer using the limited palette (we should do at least 2 or 3 color passes). Here is the full limited palette:
